PRESIDENT BATTULGA CONSENTS TO PROPOSAL ON PRIME MINISTER-DESIGNATE
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga responded to Speaker of Parliament Miyegombyn Enkhbold on the proposal on discussion about Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, the Prime Ministerial candidate nominated by the Mongolian People’s Party, the incumbent ruling party. The proposal was presented to the President earlier today.
The response was presented by Chief of Staff of the President’s Office Z.Enkhbold.
The official letter reads, “Due to dismissal of the cabinet formed after the Parliamentary Elections of 2016, the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) has nominated Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to Prime Minister’s position, and the proposal on consent was submitted to the President on September 27 of 2017.
In enjoyment of full powers bestowed upon the President of Mongolia in pursuance of Section 1 of Article 33 of the Constitution of Mongolia, I hereby propose the State Great Khural on appointing Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh the Prime Minister of Mongolia.”
The President also wished the parliament to hold urgent discussion on appointing U.Khurelsukh the Head of Government of Mongolia.
