PARLIAMENTARY STANDING COMMITTEE BACKS ISSUE OF PRIME MINISTER-DESIGNATE
The State Great Khural’s Standing Committee on State Structure discussed the appointment of Prime Minister and issue of the Prime Minister-designate and voted 100 percent in favor at today’s meeting.
The issue was presented to the meeting by Chief of Staff of the Office of the President Z.Enkhbold.
On September 27, Speaker of Parliament and Chairman of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) M.Enkhbold presented the proposal on President’s consent to the Prime Ministerial candidate Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh nominated by the majority of MPP members.
The President accepted the proposal and wished the parliament to “hold immediate discussion on appointing the head of government.”
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on State Structure N.Enkhbold presented the draft parliamentary resolution on appointing Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh the Prime Minister of Mongolia. All 17 members of the Standing Committee voted in favor.
