AMBASSADOR OF HUNGARY PRESENTS LETTER OF CREDENCE

Newly accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary Galosfai Mihaly Matyas presented credentials to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga on October 3.

After this, President Battulga received Mr. Galosfai Mihaly Matyas for a bilateral meeting and touched upon some important cooperation areas. The sides agreed to put the plans into action as soon as possible.

President Battulga shared that the dignitary has discussed the issue of renovation at Biocombinat factory, which has remained on the table of discussion for many years, with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban earlier last September during a working visit to HUngary.

On this meeting, the President talked about the stagnation of implementation of the USD 25 million assistance loan for the Project on Equipment Renovation of Biocombinat State-Owned Factory and wished to accertain the causes of failure to realize the loan procession, and the two sides agreed to immediately forward the above-mentioned project.

The project had been a subject of focus for President Battulga when he was the Minister for Industry and Agriculture. The President expects the project to result in improved livestock health, increased imports of animal origin products, and eventually, have greater effect on the lives of more than 160 thousand livestock herding households.
As a result, it will become an impetus to building multi-pillared economy, said the President. The recent spread of hoof-and-mouth disease in Ulaanbaatar city gives a clear signal of emergency, said President Battulga and urged to pay a site visit to Biocombinat and immediately commence the planning of the project implementation. He mentioned that J.Batzandan MP, head of the Mongolia-Hungary group in the State Great Khural will be cooperating in the project implementation.

The President also shared that he views that the first work to pursue for new Minister for Food, Agriculture and Light Industry should be the renovation of Biocombinat.

Ambassador Mihaly Matyas expressed his gratitude for being able to contribute to implementation of this important project and reassured its significance once again.

The second request from the President of Mongolia concerned exchange of practices in movie industry.

He noted that film art is of great importance in provoking patriotism in young minds, and promoting Mongolian history and cultural heritages to the world.

The Ambassador promised, as a person who had worked in Mongolia, is connected with Mongolia by marriage and has many friends in Mongolia, to put all efforts in broadening cooperation between the two countries.

Present at the meeting were, head of Mongolia-Hungary group in the State Great Khural J.Batzandan MP, Chief of Staff of the President’s Office Z.Enkhbold and officials of the Hungarian diplomatic mission in Mongolia along with other related officials.
