PRESIDENT BATTULGA RECEIVES REPS FROM “HEART SAVING PROJECT NGO OF JAPAN
On November 8, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received representatives of Heart Saving Project NGO of Japan, including the NGO’s Executive Director Usami Hiroyuki, Project Coordinator B.Altantuya, Head of the Voluntary Organization named “Heart Saving Project – Mongolia” B.Ariuntuya and project assistant B.Badral.
Beginning the meeting, the President stated Heart Saving Project, thanks to which many little lives were saved, started operating in Mongolia in 2011. “A study reveals one in hundred children in Mongolia has heart deformity. The number is likely to rise due to air and other environmental pollutions. I have been collaborating with this project in light of its not-for-profit purposes, and I will continue my assistance,” he said.
Mr. Usami Hiroyuki said, “The project has completed tours through 21 aimags of Mongolia. In 2017, we worked in Khuvsgul and Khovd aimags,” and noted the project team would like to go to the aimags they went through once again to provide medical services to infants and children in need.
Heart Saving Project toured around all 21 aimags of Mongolia, involved about 6,000 children in tests for heart deformities and more than 560 children received free-of-charge heart operations that saved their lives.
In addition, the NGO has donated fire-fighting and ambulance trucks to Mongolian authorities.
