PRESIDENTIAL PRIZE OF 2017 CONFERRED UPON OUTSTANDING YOUNG SCIENTISTS

Three outstanding young academics received the Presidential Prize of 2017 on December 13. The Prize was presented by the Chief of Staff of the Office of the President, Mr. Z.Enkhbold in the State Palace.

The Presidential Prize went to Dr. Ulziijargal Gurjav, a professor of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS), Dr. Uyanga Enkhnaran, a researcher at the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia, and Dr. Natsagdorj Battsengel, a researcher at the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia.

MNUMS professor G.Ulziijargal was awarded the Prize for her research on the forms, epidemic spread and special features of Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis (TB) for the first time in Mongolia. Her research has paved the way for not only Mongolia, but the whole world to discovering a new approach for diagnosing TB on the molecular stage and biological level.

Dr. E.Uyanga, a researcher at the Physics and Technology Institute, received the Prize for her research which enabled creation of excellent-quality, high-temperture-resistant, low-cost and corrosion-resistant catalyzation material through synthesis, and introduction of such technology to Mongolia, especially in par with the Institute’s laboratory conditions.

A research paper titled “Issue of Citizenship in Mongolia-Russia Relations of the XVII Century” has earned Dr. B.Natsagdorj the Presidential Prize of this year. The research paper boasts a number of advantages over the previous researches on historical materials documented in Russian, Mongolian and Manchu languages, such as greater number of new findings belonging to Mognolian history and correction of flaws of his predecessors.
