AMBASSADOR OF MONGOLIA TO US RECEIVES LETTER OF CREDENCE
President Kh.Battulga handed a letter of credence to newly-assigned Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the United States of America Yo.Otgonbayar on March 23.
Upon granting the credentials, the President said, “The size of Mongolia’s trade turnover with the US is at unsatisfactory level, as you know. Recently, Mongolia and the US marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. I believe you are familiar with the contents of my letter addressed to US President Donald Trump and sent on the threshold of new year. There is much to accomplish for you as the Ambassador.
Our cooperation in defense should be maintained. A recent visit of Z.Enkhbold, Chief of Staff of the Office, to the US was very constructive in a way that it has delivered my request on forwarding the ongoing negotiations on tax exemptions for textile products of Mongolia entering the US and on combating corruption. As the Ambassador, you are trusted to continue these endeavors. We will be the judges of your work.”
After accepting his letter of credence, Ambassador Yo.Otgonbayar said “I have thoroughly read Your letter to US President Donald Trump and the latter’s reply. I strongly pledge to attach special importance to the issues reflected in the letter, increasing the amount of investment and forwarding the negotiations on textile products’ customs tax. I am also familiar with the results of the visit of Head of the President’s Office,” and promised to go after the interests of Mongolia as far as an Embassy is able to do.
