HEAD OF STATE WELCOMES COMPOSER B.SHARAV IN STATE CEREMONIAL GER
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received today Laureate of the Order of Chinggis Khaan and State Prize-Winning musical composer B.Sharav. This May 22nd is marking the 30th anniversary of the sounding of B.Sharav’s 2nd Symphony, composed in 1987, on stage of the Leningrad Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich during the 3rd Grand International Classical Music Festival.
The President shared his concern over the absence of any video footage of the 2nd Symphony being staged, and pledged to help leave a video archive of the great musical composition.
On the 2nd Symphony, Composer B.Sharav said “Music is content itself. When I composed the symphony, I desired to express the glory of the Secret History of the Mongols and great might of Chinggis Khaan.” He also shared his wish to disseminate the symphony through adding a music video to the composition.
