KOREAN UNIFICATION FLAG TO BE RAISED AT EAST ASIAN JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS
In connection to the hosting of the 2018 East Asian Judo Championships in Ulaanbaatar on June 8th-10th, the Governing Board of the East Asian Judo Federation, organizer of the Championships, met today in the State Palace. The Championships will unite the judokas of the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea under the same flag.
Chief of Staff of the President’s Office and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Championships Z.Enkhbold received members of the Governing Board following their meeting. It was reported to Mr. Z.Enkhbold that the Governing Board had certified the use of the Korean Unification Flag, which the athletes of the ROK and the DPRK marched under at the 2018 Winter Olympics and was approved by the International Olympic Committee. The draw and technical consultation of the Championships also took place during the Governing Board meeting.
Moreover, the Chief of Staff of the President’s Office was appointed to head the Organizing Committee of the 2020 Asian Judo Championships, which Mongolia will host in cooperation with the International Judo Federation.
Mr. Z.Enkhbold appreciated the successful preparations for the East Asian Judo Championships and wished success for the competition.
