MEETING WITH LEO ERIC VARADKAR, PRIME MINISTER OF IRELAND
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland Leo Eric Varadkar on the first day of the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Leo Eric Varadkar appreciated his meeting with President Battulga and recalled a three-week assignment that he took in Mongolia 10 years ago.
While mentioning his awareness of the development of agriculture sector in Ireland, especially that the country’s dairy product export revenue reached USD 4 billion, President Battulga emphasized that it was highly important for the development of Mongolia to process its raw materials of animal-origin and manufacture value-added products, given the number of Mongolia’s livestock which is nearing 80 million. The sides also touched upon the development of tourism industry in Ireland. President Battulga expressed Mongolia’s interest in learning from the tourism industry experiences of Ireland which receives around 16 million tourists annually.
The sides exchanged views on a broad range of issues, including about giving priority to the advancement of bilateral relations in the spheres of agriculture and tourism and mutually supporting each other in the international arena.
