GREETINGS OF CHIEF OF STAFF Z.ENKHBOLD TO THE ACADEMIC CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN MONGOLIA AND VIETNAM
Chief of Staff to the President Z.Enkhbold extended greetings to the academic conference themed Mongolia-Vietnam Relations: History and New Era, that was held today in dedication to the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Chief of Staff said:
“Good morning!
Let me extend my greetings to the participants of the academic conference dedicated to the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Originating from the early middle ages, the relations between Mongolia and Vietnam have overcome countless challenges of history and expanded over the years, with friendship and cooperation deepening further.
Mongolia has greatly valued the potential for the development of its cooperation with Vietnam and attached importance to our traditional relations. Mongolia seeks to intensify its cooperation with Vietnam, a traditional partner and an old friend, and develop our partnership on a broader scope into all spheres, including economy, trade, investment, agriculture, education, culture, labor, defense, and law.
As one of the first few countries to formally recognize Vietnam, Mongolia became the first country among the Southeast Asian countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Mongolia supported Vietnam in its accession to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the World Trade Organization and election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and Vietnam supported Mongolia in joining the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and the ASEAN Regional Forum. High-level visits have been mutual between our two countries.
At this time when the influence and position of Vietnam continues to increase in Southeast Asia, I am confident that the friendly relations and traditional cooperation between Mongolia and Vietnam, building on the success of the past 65 years and as a result of joint efforts, will consistently expand and move forward in all the directions in accordance with the interests and wishes of the people of the two countries.
I hope that the academic conference, co-organized by the Office of the President of Mongolia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute of International Relations of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and the Mongolian Employers’ Federation, will make a great contribution to reviewing the past 65 years of traditional friendly relations and cherishing the achievements, as well as increasing mutual understanding in the areas of history, politics, economy, and culture.
I wish success to the conference.”
