POLAR STAR ORDER CONFERRED UPON JAPANESE CITIZEN
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga issued a decree on conferring the high state decoration—Polar Star Order—on Professor Masakazu Yamamoto, Director of the Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Japan, in recognition of his contribution to the broadening of bilateral friendly relations and cooperation, strengthening of cancer research, and the training of oncologists in Mongolia.
Deputy Chief of Staff to the President G.Baigalmaa presented the award today.
Mr. Masakazu Yamamoto has made 12 trips to Mongolia since 2008 to work with the Department of Surgery of the National Cancer Center of Mongolia, during which he conducted successful surgeries on over 50 Mongolian patients and workplace training, thus making an invaluable contribution to the current development of liver, biliary, and pancreas surgery, abdominal surgery, esophagectomy, and colon surgery and treatment at the National Cancer Center.
