MEETING WITH SHOLBAN KARA-OOL, HEAD OF THE REPUBLIC OF TUVA OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received the Head of the Republic of Tuva of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sholban Kara-ool, today.
President Battulga began the meeting by noting that the visit of the Head of the Republic of Tuva to Mongolia to gain familiarity with the state of the region is significant in terms of playing a crucial role in bilateral relations and in strengthening Mongolia-Russia cross-border cooperation as well as regional ties.
The sides discussed a wide range of matters including agriculture, humanitarian exchange, people-to-people ties, economic relations, and aviation and exchanged views on the ways to develop active cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Tuva within the framework of the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor Program.
Mr. Kara-ool spoke about the Kuragino-Kyzyl railway line project, a part of the projects that are implemented by the Government of the Russian Federation, and the sides agreed on the project’s potential to make a solid contribution to the development of the Republic of Tuva as well as western Mongolia. Furthermore, President Battulga expressed his confidence that there will be active efforts on both sides, considering the common interest of the sides in this area and that the project gives stimulus to making progress in the Northern Corridor works within the Trilateral Economic Corridor Program.
At the end of the meeting, President Battulga and Head of the Republic of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool reached an understanding on the matter of establishing a joint working group on the works that were discussed at the meeting and agreed to work closely at each level.
