AMBASSADOR OF CANADA PRESENTS HER LETTER OF CREDENCE
The newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia, Ms. Catherine Ivkoff, presented her letter of credence to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga today.
In this regard, President Battulga received the Ambassador and discussed matters pertaining to bilateral economic, cultural, and sports ties.
While mentioning that the trade and investment relations between Mongolia and Canada are primarily based on the mining sector and minerals, the President asked the Ambassador to direct her efforts towards the diversification of the Mongolian economy, in particular, increasing the weight of agriculture in the economy. Moreover, the President touched upon the technological renovation works that are in progress in remote soums with the use of Canadian technology, encouraging the Ambassador to gain familiarity with the project and actively work towards involving more soums in the renovation project. The sides also discussed the possibility of broadening bilateral cooperation in sports through joint sports training sessions and coach exchange programs.
