PRESIDENT KHURELSUKH ATTENDS WORLD CLIMATE ACTION SUMMIT
The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) commenced today in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
At the invitation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh is participating in the World Climate Action Summit (WCAS).
Upon his arrival at Expo City Dubai, President Khurelsukh was greeted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres.
Heads of state and governments of over 140 countries are taking part in the high-level Meeting of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28). The Heads of state and government are aiming to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Agreement, including achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, further solidifying the commitment to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, enhancing inclusivity in climate discussions, and collectively addressing the adverse impacts of climate change.
Today, President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh will address the Summit, expressing Mongolia’s position on combating climate change, desertification, and reducing global warming, and present nationwide policies and activities.
