Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia the Honourable Samantha Mostyn to Pay a State Visit to Mongolia
At the invitation of the President of Mongolia H.E. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia the Honourable Samantha Mostyn will pay a State Visit to Mongolia from September 4-9, 2025.
This is the first visit of the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia to Mongolia in 31 years and significant in further expanding and strengthening Mongolia’s relations and cooperation with Australia, our “third neighbor” and an important partner in the Indo-Pacific region.
During the visit, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Governor-General Samantha Mostyn will hold official talks and exchange views on a broad range of topics, including enhancing political, trade, investment, education, and agriculture cooperation, strengthening people-to-people ties, and deepening regional and international collaboration within the commitment to elevate the bilateral relationship to a “Comprehensive Partnership”.
Furthermore, Governor-General Mostyn plans to visit Australia-supported projects and programs in Mongolia and meet business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Mongolia and Australia established diplomatic relations on September 15, 1972.
Currently, more than 22,000 Mongolian citizens reside in Australia.
