President of Mongolia Receives Speaker of India’s Lower House Om Birla
At the Invitation of the President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is paying a State Visit to the Republic of India from October 13 to 16, 2025.
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Parliament of the Republic of India.
President Khurelsukh noted that Mongolia considers India not only as its third neighbor but also as a trusted partner in the region, and that deepening the “Strategic Partnership” and expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation are among the top priorities of Mongolia’s foreign policy.
President Khurelsukh recalled his meeting with Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, during his visit to Mongolia in 2023. He emphasized that Speaker Om Birla’s visit significantly contributed to strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries, elevated inter-parliamentary cooperation to a new level, and laid the foundation for further cooperation between the two countries.
Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, expressed his pleasure at meeting the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, again in the Republic of India. He underlined that the State Visit marks a historic event of great significance in strengthening the “Strategic Partnership” between the two countries and further expanding friendly relations and cooperation between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and India’s Lok Sabha.
Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, expressed that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of India, the Parliament of India will work to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries’ Parliaments and friendship groups, and to enrich and develop the friendly relations between the Republic of India and Mongolia with new substance.
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa emphasized that the construction of the Oil Refinery Project, being implemented with the Republic of India’s soft loan and grant assistance, stands as a symbol of the friendly cooperation between Mongolia and India.
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa underlined that the people of Mongolia are deeply grateful for the attention and consistent support of the Parliament of India in ensuring the successful implementation of the project within the planned timeframe.
