Our deepest condolences and sympathy go to the families, parents, companions and children of the 17 mountaineers who lost their lives in an unfortunate accident while going downhill from Mount Otgontenger. We wish our thoughts would give you more strength to bear the irrecoverable loss that has befallen upon you.
Even though we had been expecting, like all of you, at least some of them to come alive, we are now mourning over the lost hope.
This grave catastrophe has to become warning and lesson for government and non-government organizations, voluntary unions and clubs that organize mountaineering trips, especially in high mountains, signaling them to strengthen their risk estimations and assure safety.
We are confident that these young people, who were in their age of prosperity, aspired to high mountains and higher peaks as they went further and were proud to have conquered the summit of their dreams.
May You ascend to the kingdom of heaven in peace, and be reborn among the fellow Mongolian people.
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga,
Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Miyegombyn Enkhbold and
Prime Minister of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh
