PRESIDENT BATTULGA MEETS GOVERNOR OF SHIZUOKA PREFECTURE HEITA KAWAKATSU
On August 9, the President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met with Japanese representatives led by Heita Kawakatsu, Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
Governor of Shizuoka Mr. Heita Kawakatsu congratulated President Battulga on the election of the President of Mongolia on behalf of the 3.7 million people in Shizuoka Prefecture.
In response, President Battulga noted: “I believe that the Eastern Asia, in particular Japan would be the important fulcrum of our economic development. This cooperation is important for our goal to create new jobs and initiate new projects for the development”.
President Battulga highlighted that when he was Minister of Agriculture, he started many projects in cooperation with Shizuoka Prefecture. In the scope of these projects, Shizuoka Prefecture has started to train Mongolian specialists who will work in power plants of Sainshand Industrial Complex. Moreover, buckwheat was successfully planted in 40 hectares in Selenge Aimag, and it is expected that the plantation will expanded to 80 hectares.
After having introduced about the projects, Governor of Shizuoka Mr. Heita Kawakatsu expressed his belief that the mutual cooperation would further expand in many spheres.
