PRESIDENT BATTULGA IS SET TO GIVE DIRECTIONS TO THE GOVERNMENT
Currently, there are 22 wildfires raging in Mongolian territory and three of the fire sites are difficult to get or unreachable for human and techniques. After visiting and getting acquainted with the wildfire sites in Batsumber Soum of Tuv Aimag, President Battulga held an urgent meeting. At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, Minister of Defense B.Bat-Erdene, Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General D.Davaa, and Chief of Staff of the President Z.Enkhbold were present and they discussed issues related to current situation and further measures.
President Battulga highlighted to pay attention to preventing wildfires and other natural disasters, strengthening emergency management sphere and improving cooperation between Ministry of Defense and the National Emergency Management Agency. He also emphasized to implement the National Emergency Management Agency’s decision on prohibiting travel in forest and mountain areas, and open control points in roads.
Concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to issue Presidential Decree on giving directions to the Government on current wildfire situations and measures to be taken.
