MEETING WITH BØRGE BRENDE, PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, met President of the forum Børge Brende today.
At the meeting that generally addressed geopolitical issues, President Battulga gave substantial information and exchanged views on the developments of road and rail networks in Mongolia, which is situated between Europe and Asia, as well as Mongolia’s potentials in energy sources.
Mr. Brende agreed that the Super Grid initiative, which aims to supply cost-efficient energy to the Northeast Asian region through generation of power from solar and wind sources, is worthy of interest to the entire region and that the infrastructure in Mongolia would be an important junction connecting Europe with Asia. The two sides also discussed and agreed to organize a panel session on this matter during the upcoming World Economic Forum on ASEAN & the Indo-Pacific 2020, to attract investment towards infrastructure and energy projects and increase the participation of regional countries.
