MEETING WITH NEWLY ACCREDITED AMBASSADORS TO POLAND AND SWEDEN
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga has appointed Mr. Dorj Barkhas the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Poland, and Mr. Janabazar Tuvdendorj the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Sweden, respectively. The President granted their credentials today.
Upon granting the letters of credence, President Battulga assigned the Ambassadors to pay special attention to protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian citizens and broadening the bilateral relations in a mutually beneficial manner.
For instance, the head of state instructed Ambassador Dorj to pay close attention to social security issues of over a thousand Mongolian citizens residing in Poland, especially to the medical license issues of those (more than 200 Mongolian physicians) practicing traditional medicine, as well as to strengthening the relations between the two medical sectors.
During his recent visit to the Kingdom of Norway, President Battulga held meetings with Norwegian authorities and reached some agreements on issues on founding a Wealth Fund and future cooperation in food, agriculture and winter sports. Newly appointed Ambassador to Sweden, Mr. Janabazar was reminded on the importance of putting the mentioned agreements into action.
In addition, the President also underlined the importance of importing technology and know-how to the national industries such as tourism, agriculture, livestock farming and energy.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Poland, Mr. Dorj Barkhas is an alumnus of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the University of Westminster. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations and a diplomatic title “Senior Shadar”. Mr. Dorj started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Mongolia in 1989. Respectively in 2000-2004 and 2013-2016, he worked as a Second Secretary and Minister-Counselor at the Mongolian Embassy in Warsaw. He had been working as the Director of the Policy Planning Department of MFA since 2016.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Sweden, Mr. Janabazar Tuvdendorj is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and defended master’s degree in International Development in Japan, and received extensive education in USA and Japan. Mr. Janabazar had been working in the Ministry since 1987, holding positions of specialist at the Asian and African Affairs and European Affairs Departments (1991-1994), Senior Specialist responsible for North American Affairs (2000-2002), Director of Policy Planning, Information and Evaluation Department (2006-2008), and Director of Neighboring Countries Department (from 2015 until recently). He also worked in the UNDP Office in Ulaanbaatar (1989-1990), at the Mongolian Embassy to Vietnam as a secretary for ESCAP (1995-1998), as First Secretary at the Embassy in Ottawa (2002-2006), as Minister Counselor at the Embassy in Tokyo (2008-2011) and the Ambassador of Mongolia to Lao People’s Democratic Republic (2012-2015).
