MEETING WITH GURBANGULY BERDYMUKHAMEDOV, NATIONAL LEADER OF THE PEOPLE OF TURKMENISTAN AND CHAIRMAN OF THE HALK MASLAHATY
As part of his state visit to Turkmenistan, President of Mongolia, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, met with the National Leader of the People of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Khurelsukh expressed Mongolia’s commitment to expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with Central Asian countries, with particular emphasis on deepening ties with Turkmenistan.
He conveyed his profound satisfaction in being the first President of Mongolia to undertake a state visit to Turkmenistan, underscoring the significance of this historic occasion. Moreover, he highlighted the privilege of personally witnessing Turkmenistan’s remarkable progress and development, as well as gaining a closer understanding of the well-being and livelihood of its people.
Both sides expressed confidence that this state visit would solidify the legal foundation of Mongolian-Turkmen relations, enrich bilateral ties and cooperation with new content, and significantly contribute to strengthening the friendship and camaraderie between their peoples.
The Halk Maslahaty, or People’s Council, stands as an autonomous institution vested with the highest constitutional authority. It exercises the ultimate power to discuss and enact amendments to the Constitution and other laws, and to deliberate on the key directions of the nation’s domestic and foreign policies.
