The ceremony for opening the annual \u201cScript of Eternal Sky \u2013 2017\u201d Calligraphic Exhibition at the initiative of the President of Mongolia was held today in \u201cOrd\u201d exhibit hall of the Children\u2019s Invention Center. The exhibition is opening in anticipation of the 855th anniversary of Chinggis Khaan \u2013 National Pride Day.<\/p>\n
Script of Eternal Sky \u2013 2017 is showcasing Mongolian traditional script calligraphic pieces created by eight distinguished artists and 55 school children.<\/p>\n
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Chief of Staff of the President\u2019s Office Z.Enkhbold, Presidential Advisors Ts.Khulan and T.Tegshjargal, Vice Chairpeople of the President\u2019s Office G.Baigalmaa and B.Saruul, Minister of Education, Science and Sport Yo.Otgonbayar, First Laureate of the Asian Literature Award poet D.Uriankhai, People\u2019s Teacher of Mongolia Ts.Unurbayan, State Prize Laureate painter Sh.Chimeddorj and scholars and professors from the Academy of Sciences, National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian National University of Education, as well as representatives of scholars and authors of linguistics, culture and history fields, and students from general education school and universities were present.<\/p>\n
The first decree of Khaltmaagiin Battulga as President of Mongolia was a Decree on Proclaiming the Day of Mother Language, issued on August 25th of 2017. \u201cIn accordance with this decree, September 1st was observed as the Day of Mother Language,\u201d stressed the President in his opening address.<\/p>\n
The National Council on Language Policy was set up under the President of Mongolia in pursuance of the provision in the Law on Mongolian Language, adopted in 2015, which states, \u201cMongolian language and script are the guarantee of integrity of the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n
The President presented prizes to children who created the best calligraphic pieces for the exhibition, while expressing his gratitude for the 13 and 14-year-olds for mastering the traditional script and putting their talents into art form.<\/p>\n
The Children\u2019s Invention Center employs 23 tutors and provides training for 2,005 children.<\/p>\n
