In accordance with the Resolution No. 328 of the Government of Mongolia, adopted on December 6, 2017, Ordinance No. 53 of the Minister of Health and Ordinance No. 45 of the Minister of Finance, Mongolia will host the 2018 East Asian Judo Championships on June 8th-10th in the capital city Ulaanbaatar.<\/p>\n

The 14-member Organizing Committee of the Championships is headed by Z.Enkhbold, Chief of Staff of the President\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The Organizing Committee met today in the State House and discussed the preparation works which have wrapped up. As of today, athletes from eight countries and administrative regions – Mongolia, Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the People\u2019s Republic of China (PRC), Chinese Taipei, Macau and Hong Kong have confirmed their participation, making the total number of foreign delegates to the Championships over 200.<\/p>\n

Moreover, it was mentioned during the meeting that judokas from the ROK and the DPRK will march under the same flag for the team competition of the Championships, which would be the first time athletes from the two countries unite under a same flag in a summer sports event.<\/p>\n

Referees from the eight participating sides will be on duty at the Championships, where the East Asian Judo Federation will also hold a referee qualification examination.<\/p>\n

The Championships will take place at the Central Sports Palace, and President Battulga will open the individual competition on June 9th, whereas the team competition will be held on June 10th.<\/p>\n

During its meeting, members of the Organizing Committee of the Championships noted the importance of hosting the Championships in strengthening the friendly relations and mutual respect between East Asian nations, and promoting exchange of experience and new talent, given the fact that development of judo is advanced in the region.<\/p>\n
