This is the first time a head of state has received the prize in the last 16 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Battulga was named the 2018 recipient of the Nicholas Roerich International Prize for his contribution to the development of the Mongolian cultural identity through a number of projects, including:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Supporting the large-scale archaeological research project on a burial field of Hunnu (Xiongnu) aristocrats dating back to 110 BCE in a site named Gol Mod-II in Khanui Bag, Undur-Ulaan Soum, Arkhangai Aimag,<\/li>\n<li>Building the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue and the 13th Century Tourism Complex,<\/li>\n<li>Launching the Grand Maitreya Project to build a 54-meter tall standing statue of Maitreya designed by Undur Gegeen Zanabazar with the aim of building the spiritual immunity of Mongolians through culture and developing tourism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The award ceremony took place on October 13th in Russia, and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President G.Baigalmaa received the award on behalf of the President.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"date":"2018-10-16T15:31:11","excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga has been awarded the 2018 Nicholas Roerich International Prize.
