{"id":6673,"slug":"meeting-with-olaug-bollestad-minister-of-food-and-agriculture-of-the-kingdom-of-norway","status":"publish","tags":[],"title":{"rendered":"MEETING WITH OLAUG BOLLESTAD, MINISTER OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE OF THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of\nMongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga today met Olaug Bollestad, Minister of Food and\nAgriculture of the Kingdom of Norway, and discussed matters pertaining to\nbilateral agricultural cooperation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to\nMs. Bollestad, the recent technological innovation in the agriculture sector\nhas been the main driving factor of increased agricultural productivity in\nNorway. Moreover, the activities of a research center, the function of which is\nto introduce scientific discoveries in agriculture, has given impetus to the application\nof latest technology and sharing of this knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There have been no cases of foot-and-mouth disease in\nNorway since 1953 and of murrain in pigs since 1960. The Minister said that it\ndemonstrated the level of the development of agriculture sector in the country,\nwhile expressing willingness to work with Mongolia in the areas of livestock\nand animal health and veterinary medicine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carlos das Neves, Director for Research and Internationalisation at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, presented a report to President Battulga and Minister Bollestad about animal health and veterinary institutes in Mongolia, which was produced as the result of a study conducted by a team from the Institute during their trip to Mongolia in 2019. The sides agreed to work together in these areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Battulga expressed Mongolia\u2019s interest in expanding bilateral ties at all levels in order to adopt Norwegian agricultural technology and equipment through different phases aside from the field of animal health.
