{"id":6718,"slug":"meeting-with-xi-jinping-president-of-the-peoples-republic-of-china-2","status":"publish","tags":[],"title":{"rendered":"MEETING WITH XI JINPING, PRESIDENT OF THE PEOPLE\u2019S REPUBLIC OF CHINA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of Mongolia\nKhaltmaagiin Battulga arrived in the People\u2019s Republic of China and met\nPresident Xi Jinping today (February 27). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President is\naccompanied by D.Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, D.Gankhuyag,\nAmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the People\u2019s\nRepublic of China, Major General T.Badral, Head of the National Emergency\nManagement Agency, U.Shijir, Chief of Staff to the President, and T.Tegshjargal,\nForeign Policy Advisor to the President. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the fifth meeting between the\nheads of state of the two countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the outset, President\nBattulga extended condolences to the people of China over their loss and\nhardships caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19). Along with warm\ngreetings, President Battulga said his visit comes in respect to the traditions\nand courtesies exercised between Mongolia and China from ancient times, adding\nMongolian words of wisdom: \u201cA needle in need is of greater use than a camel in prosperity\u201d\nas it implies \u201cadversity reveals the quality of friendship\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Battulga said that \u201cThe people of China, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping, can subdue the novel coronavirus outbreak and overcome this impermanent challenge soon,\u201d while expressing his confidence in China\u2019s science-backed efforts in defeating the novel coronavirus spread, and remarked that the international community, as a whole, will benefit from such a victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, President\nBattulga said that the Mongolian people were equally concerned about the outbreak of novel coronavirus as Mongolia shares the longest\nland border (4709.6 km) with China. The latter also said on the imposition of\nban on travel across the border due to the current situation that he trusts that\nthe restrictions will be lifted and growth will be observed in bilateral trade\nturnover and economic cooperation in the future as a result of joint efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Battulga also\ntouched upon the donation campaign titled \u2018Aid from the Heart to our Eternal\nNeighbor\u2019 that was launched by the Government of Mongolia, the voluntary donations\nmade by the Mongolian people and entities that were handed over to the Chinese\nside, and the donation of 30 thousand sheep by the people of Mongolia within the scope of this\nvisit, saying that these contributions will be measured in the depth of its\nsignificance in bilateral ties, rather than in their size. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Xi Jinping expressed sincere gratitude to President Battulga for paying a visit to China despite the current situation in the country while quoting the Chinese word of wisdom \u201cIf you have received a drop of beneficence from other people, you should return to them a fountain of beneficence,\u201d with credit to Confucius, as well as the Mongolian proverb on friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Xi Jinping also stressed the fact that this was a first visit at the level of a head of state to China since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus and noted that the visit presented an opportunity to open new doors within the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership relations of the two countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During\nthe meeting, the sides concurred that the situation surrounding the novel\ncoronavirus outbreak didn\u2019t concern only one country, thus requiring collaboration,\nand exchanged views on current issues. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, the sides concluded that the meeting, having taken place at a time of the novel coronavirus outbreak in China and an ongoing nationwide fight against it, is proof that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries has reached a new height and the demonstration of an ideal cooperation between neighboring countries to the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Present at the meeting\nwere, members of the official delegation from Mongolia, and from the Chinese\nside, Yang Jiechi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission and\nMember of the Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China, Wang Yi, State\nCouncilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, He Lifeng, Minister in charge of the\nNational Development and Reform Commission, Zhong Shan, Minister of Commerce,\nand Chai Wenrui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People\u2019s\nRepublic of China to Mongolia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/OTGO7681\u0415-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6719\" srcset=\"https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/OTGO7681\u0415-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/OTGO7681\u0415-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/OTGO7681\u0415-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"date":"2020-02-27T21:26:06","excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga arrived in the People\u2019s Republic of China and met President Xi Jinping today (February 27).
