{"id":6782,"slug":"president-presented-with-final-results-of-parliamentary-elections","status":"publish","tags":[],"title":{"rendered":"PRESIDENT PRESENTED WITH FINAL RESULTS OF PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The General Election Commission (GEC) presented the final\nresults of parliamentary elections 2020 to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin\nBattulga, today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon presenting the official final results, GEC Chairman\nCh.Sodnomtseren said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe General Election Commission of Mongolia has organized the\nEighth State Great Khural (Parliament) Elections with success, in the scope of\nthe Commission\u2019s full rights bestowed by the laws and in accordance with the\nConstitution of Mongolia, the Law on General Election Authority, the Law on\nElections of State Great Khural of Mongolia and the Law on Automated Election\nSystem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regular parliamentary elections of 2020 was organized\nbased on larger constituencies with multi-mandate system. Total of 21 electoral\ncommissions nationwide, consisting of 337 local commissions in soums and\ndistricts, 2070 polling stations and 27 IT teams had been set up and 35,772\npublic servants took part in the organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The General Authority of State Registration took over the\nrole of formulation of voters\u2019 list, keeping record of and crosschecking migration, eliminating\nduplication of identity, and provided general guidance over registration\nissues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GEC worked closely with the State Emergency Commission, the\nMinistry of Health and National Emergency Management Agency on implementing\nprecaution measures of COVID-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 13 political parties and 4 coalitions registered\ntheir candidates. Including 121 independent candidates, a total of 606\ncandidates had been nominated and organized their electoral campaigns within\nthe legally provided timeframe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the total 2,003,969 Mongolian nationals of age, 1,475,780\nvoters cast their ballots on the Election Day of June 24<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Votes were counted electronically. However, additional\nmanual counting took place in 846 polling stations for revaluation, results of\nwhich matched the e-counting results\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GEC Chairman further provided details of election results. The Mongolian People\u2019s Party (MPP) secured a majority, 62 seats, while the Democratic Party (DP) secured 11, \u201cTa Bidnii Evsel\u201d (Union of Yours and Ours) won 1 seat, \u201cZuv Khun \u2013 Electorate\u201d (Right Person \u2013 Electorate) Coalition, and an independent candidate won a seat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The elected MPs received the Resolutions, certifying their\nelectoral victory and seats in the parliament, on June 29, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GEC members presented the final election results and the above mentioned Resolutions to President Khaltmaagiin Battulga. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"date":"2020-06-30T12:06:41","excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The General Election Commission (GEC) presented the final results of parliamentary elections 2020 to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, today.
