President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh has welcomed Pope Francis, who is paying a State Visit to Mongolia from August 31 to September 4, 2023 at the Sukhbaatar Square in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Pope Francis is paying the State Visit to Mongolia at the invitation of President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh as the first high-level visit from the Holy See to Mongolia.<\/p>\n

Upon a report of the Commander of the State Honor Guard, the National Anthems of both countries were performed. Members of the State Great Khural and the Government and other officials greeted Pope Francis.<\/p>\n

Following the welcoming ceremony at the central square Pope Francis and President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh paid tribute to the Statue of the Great Emperor Chinggis Khaan.<\/p>\n

Then, Pope Francis signed the Book of Honored Guests at the State House. President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and Pope Francis held a t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate meeting.<\/p>\n
