{"id":7765,"slug":"meeting-with-his-majesty-jigme-khesar-nyamgyel-wangchuk-king-of-bhutan","status":"publish","tags":[39],"title":{"rendered":"MEETING WITH HIS MAJESTY JIGME KHESAR NYAMGYEL WANGCHUK, KING OF BHUTAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">His Excellency Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, President of Mongolia and His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, King of Bhutan held an official meeting in the State Palace of Mongolia on July 9, 2024.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">At the outset of the meeting, President Khurelsukh expressed confidence that the first State Visit by the King of Bhutan to Mongolia would further enhance the friendly relations between the two countries, which is based on shared values of heritage, peace, and prosperity, and strengthen the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State and Government of Mongolia, and the people for their warm welcome extended to the Royal Family and the Bhutanese delegation. His Majesty highly appreciated the stable development of relations and cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2012, and the intensification of political dialogue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The two parties concurred that the State Visit of the King of Bhutan to Mongolia is of utmost significance in determining the future direction of Mongolia-Bhutan relations and cooperation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">During the meeting, the two Heads of State emphasized the deep historical, religious, and cultural ties between Mongolia and Bhutan, despite their geographical distance. President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck expressed confidence that the State Visit would open a new chapter in the relations between the two countries based on past achievements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">As Mongolia and Bhutan are landlocked developing countries, the two nations aim at transforming it into an advantage by fostering unity, mutual understanding, and partnership to overcome common socio-economic challenges and achieve sustainable development. The Heads of State also agreed to support the activities of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and contribute to formulating the development policies of landlocked countries.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The President of Mongolia and the King of Bhutan noted that the Joint Statement issued as a result of this visit would serve as a roadmap for the development of political, economic, educational, cultural, health, scientific, agricultural, and environmental cooperation, as well as the exchange of the peoples of the two countries.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7766 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/449463199_463191143279901_7393075606881624382_n-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/449463199_463191143279901_7393075606881624382_n-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/449463199_463191143279901_7393075606881624382_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/449463199_463191143279901_7393075606881624382_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/449463199_463191143279901_7393075606881624382_n-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/president.mn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/449463199_463191143279901_7393075606881624382_n.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The Bhutanese side highlighted the potential for expanding cooperation in agriculture, particularly, the livestock sector, emphasizing the significance of a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed between the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The Heads of State of Mongolia and Bhutan highlighted the vast potential for expanding cooperation in education and culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">To foster the exchange of people, the Heads of State agreed to leverage the tourism advantages and resources of the two countries by aligning Mongolia\u2019s \u201cGo Mongolia\u201d Campaign with Bhutan\u2019s \u201cBhutan Believe\u201d National Brand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The Heads of State agreed to work closely on global efforts to combat climate change and desertification and protect the environment. Also, the two sides agreed to explore the opportunities to implement joint projects under Mongolia\u2019s \u201cOne Billion Trees\u201d National Campaign and Bhutan\u2019s The Million Fruit Trees Plantation (MFTP) Project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The Heads of State also expressed commitment to deepening mutual support and active cooperation in regional and international fora, including the United Nations and other international organizations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The two sides signed a Joint Statement and bilateral documents aimed at strengthening the legal framework of Mongolia-Bhutan relations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"date":"2024-07-09T13:12:10","excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>His Excellency Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, President of Mongolia and His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, King of Bhutan held an official meeting in the State Palace of Mongolia on July 9, 2024.
