President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held official talks at the State Palace of Mongolia on September 3, 2024.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

President Khurelsukh expressed gratitude to President Putin for paying an official visit to Mongolia under the continued commemoration of the 85th Anniversary of the Victory of the Battle of Khalkhiin Gol, the 75th anniversary of the Mongolian-Russian Joint Venture “Ulaanbaatar Railway,” and the historic centennial of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The two Heads of State discussed the current state of bilateral relations and cooperation and ways to enrich the cooperation with economic content, particularly intensify relations in fuel, energy, transportation, environment, culture, education, health, and humanitarian sectors.<\/p>\n

The two Presidents commended the establishment of intergovernmental agreements on the supply of oil and petroleum products to Mongolia and the development of the design and the budget for the expansion and renovation of the Third Thermal Power Plant.<\/p>\n

President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa noted the progress made in the development of the Eg River Hydro Power Plant thanks to the joint efforts of the two parties and appreciated the fact that a joint Working Group to conduct an environmental assessment was agreed to be formed.<\/p>\n

The two sides expressed mutual confidence that an Interim Free Trade Agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), expected to be concluded by the end of this year, would enhance the legal framework for trade and create new opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

The two sides agreed on the importance of accelerating the establishment of the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor and commended the ongoing renewal of pertinent projects by the respective agencies of the three countries to meet current needs and demands.<\/p>\n
