The State Visit of Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen to Mongolia concluded on May 28, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

During the State Visit, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen held official talks and briefed the press on the outcomes. The two Presidents agreed to deepen relations between the two countries based on shared values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, and to cooperate broadly in the political, economic, educational, and scientific fields.<\/p>\n

The two sides also agreed to expand collaboration on effectively implementing Mongolia\u2019s \u201cVision-2050\u201d long-term policy, the \u201cBillions of Trees\u201d National Movement, and the \u201cPresident\u2019s Scholar-2100\u201d Scholarship Program, as well as in infrastructure, agriculture, public health, climate-change mitigation, tourism, technology, and student exchanges.<\/p>\n

This was the first State Visit by the Head of State of the Republic of Austria to Mongolia, during which the two Presidents signed a \u201cJoint Declaration between Mongolia and the Republic of Austria,\u201d marking a historic milestone in expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation across all areas.<\/p>\n

Notably, a Social Security Agreement was concluded, establishing the legal basis for citizens of the two countries to receive pensions corresponding to periods during which they paid social insurance contributions in Mongolia or Austria, thereby ensuring social protection and favorable conditions for living and working in either country. The two sides also agreed to extend their previous financial accord and increase investment in health and education.<\/p>\n

Also, the Mongolia-Austria Business Forum was held, jointly organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), with 80 Mongolian companies and 22 Austrian companies participating.<\/p>\n

Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen was seen off at Chinggis Khaan International Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Mongolia Andreas Riecken, and other officials.<\/p>\n
