{"id":8514,"slug":"his-majesty-the-emperor-of-japan-introduced-to-gachuurt-water-source-project","status":"publish","tags":[60,48],"title":{"rendered":"His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Introduced to Gachuurt Water Source Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">At the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan is paying a State Visit to Mongolia. As part of the State Visit, His Majesty the Emperor of Japan was introduced to the Gachuurt Water Source Project on July 7, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Director of the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority Turkhuu Tsogtsaikhan welcomed His Majesty and provided detailed information on the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Under Japan\u2019s Official Development Assistance (ODA) Grant Aid program, a number of projects were implemented to enhance the drinking water supply for the capital city.\u00a0From 1997 to 2006, the<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Project for Modernization of Technical Equipment at the Central Water Source Facility<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>was\u00a0carried out to supply drinking water to 40 percent of Ulaanbaatar\u2019s population, followed by\u00a0the\u00a0<em>Project for Modernization and Improvement of Equipment at the Upper Water Source\u00a0<\/em><em>i<\/em>mplemented between 2004 and 2006.\u00a0Building on the success of these initiatives, a new water source\u2014<span data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"750\">the Gachuurt Water Source Project<\/span>\u2014was constructed in Bayanzurkh District\u2019s 20th khoroo from 2011 to 2014, with support from the Government of Japan under a grant worth\u00a0<span data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"909\">USD 30 million<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1113\">This project significantly improved access to clean and safe drinking water for the residents of Ulaanbaatar, particularly benefiting\u00a0<span data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1077\">390,000 people in ger areas<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<span data-start=\"1082\" data-end=\"1112\">43,500 apartment residents<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1113\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/president.mn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/514692708_700235509594901_3868069585743110539_n-1024x683.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/president.mn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/515850818_749520894180606_2672102408528404405_n-1024x683.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"date":"2025-07-07T16:46:58","excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan is paying a State Visit to Mongolia.
