{"id":8799,"slug":"mongolia-italy-establish-a-strategic-partnership","status":"publish","tags":[70,48],"title":{"rendered":"Mongolia, Italy Establish a Strategic Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">At the invitation of President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is paying a State Visit to the Republic of Italy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b>During the visit, the two countries elevated their traditionally friendly relations to a\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"428\" data-end=\"453\">Strategic Partnership<\/span><\/b>, making Italy the second European Union member, after Germany, with which Mongolia has established such a partnership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"881\">The two Presidents\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"602\">praised<\/span><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b>the steady growth of bilateral\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"649\">cooperation<\/span><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b>and highlighted major achievements across all sectors. The two Heads of State reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation,\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"793\">ensuring<\/span><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b>international peace and security, and advancing global sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"964\"><b><em>Under the framework of the strategic partnership, Mongolia and Italy agreed to:<\/em><\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Strengthen political dialogue through\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1037\">high-level reciprocal visits<\/span><\/b>, intergovernmental political consultations between foreign ministries, and active\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1162\">relations between parliamentary groups<\/span><\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Deepen multilateral cooperation, particularly within the United Nations, and continue the active collaboration established under the 2017 Mongolia\u2013Italy\u2013EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.<\/li>\n<li><b><span data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1378\">Enhance<\/span><\/b>\u00a0defense and armed forces cooperation.<\/li>\n<li>Expand economic, investment, and trade ties through intergovernmental commissions for economic and technical cooperation, as well as direct engagement between the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Italian Trade Agency.<\/li>\n<li>Explore new export opportunities and investment avenues, utilizing economic cooperation possibilities and capabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Support cooperation of SMEs and industries in priority fields, including creating a stable supply chain in fashion and cashmere, and technology transfer in agriculture, renewable energy, and\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"1984\" data-end=\"2005\">energy transition<\/span><\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Support development in energy networks, transport, logistics, water and waste management, ICT, and health; boost smart solutions for government services, digital transformation, and safe and resilient information technology infrastructure, as well as enhance industrial competitiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Foster cooperation in environmental protection, including sustainable management of economy, land, water, and waste resources.<\/li>\n<li>Develop cooperation in the mining and raw materials sectors.<\/li>\n<li>Finalize a bilateral intergovernmental agreement on international road freight transport.<\/li>\n<li>Support collaboration in emergency management, civil protection, and risk management.<\/li>\n<li>Receive Italian support in administration, judiciary, and legal system\u00a0<b><span data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2775\">strengthening<\/span><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b>under EU projects and programs.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen cooperation in science, education, and culture, including expanding cooperation between universities and research centers and providing scholarships.<\/li>\n<li>Develop sports and tourism cooperation leveraging the \u201cMilan-Cortina 2026\u201d Winter Olympics and Paralympics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"3088\" data-end=\"3412\">Mongolia currently maintains Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships with Russia and China; a Strategic Third-Neighbor Partnership with the United States; a Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Development with Japan; and Strategic Partnerships with Germany, South Korea, Kazakhstan, T\u00fcrkiye, and India.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"date":"2025-12-02T18:28:00","excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the invitation of President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is paying a State Visit to the Republic of Italy.
