PRESIDENT BATTULGA WORKS IN WILDFIRE SITES
On July 16, the President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga has arrived in Batsumber Soum of Tuv Aimag, where the forest fire spread over. This is the first working day of President Battulga, since the Presidential inauguration ceremony. On this day, the President is visiting the areas hit by forest fire.
Currently, there are 22 wild fires raging through the country and only one of them is extinguished. The officials warned that the most of fires caused by excessive heat and human factors. Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh said to the President that there are more than 700 servicemen from the National EmergencyManagement Agency are working in the sites hit by fire and there are no problems related to equipment or human supply.
President Battulga noted: “More than 70 percent of all fires caused by human factors. During the Naadam Festival and holiday, our people like visit countryside and forest. Wildfire breaks out from camp fire, cigarettes and even glass bottles. Therefore, I would like to call on our people avoid going to the forest areas temporary and be aware from wildfires. Wildfires break out from the ashes of extinguished fire. Ministry of Defense will support and our private companies and citizens are making their own contribution to cease wildfires. Volunteers at the wildfire sites must be organized as soon as possible”.
It started to rain after the arrival of President Battulga at the fire site 20 kilometers north of the Batsumber Soum.
