PRESIDENT BATTULGA RECEIVES ADB COUNTRY DIRECTOR FERNANDEZ LOMMEN
Khaltmaagiin Battulga, President of Mongolia, received Yolanda Fernandez Lommen, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Mongolia, on September 21.
Beginning the meeting, the ADB Country Director said she is focusing on several priorities included in a strategy, which has been co-formulated by Mongolia and ADB, on diversifying the economy, augmenting job places and making public services and its distribution to the public more fruitful. She added that ADB plans to implement projects and programs on supporting rural development and small and medium enterprises, processing of agricultural products, maximizing income of people and reforming education and health sectors. A project will be realized for the first time in Mongolia with objectives to back people with disabilities by providing them with work places and proper working living conditions, Yolanda said.
Noting that ADB rendered big assistance to Mongolia for overcoming the economic transition period, the President pointed out that the access to provinces improved after construction of paved-roads to aimags from the capital city during his post of the Minister of Road and Transport.
The President noted about his meetings with leaders of some countries at the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok and discussing issues of opening gates for Mongolia penetrating the market to East Asian countries in order to change its dependence from a single market
