PRESIDENT OF MONGOLIA RECEIVES AMBASSADOR OF REPUBLIC OF TURKEY
On September 21, the President of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. Khaltmaagiin Battulga received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Yazal.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed greetings of Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey to the President of Mongolia, and underlined the bilateral relations have been undergoing with great intensity.
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga responded to greetings of his Turkish counterpart with gratitude. He went on and said, “Turkey has great expertise in processing leather and hide. Mongolia is an agricultural country. It has seventy million heads of livestock.” The President shared that he intends to put forward a proposal on jointly implementing a project on leather and hide processing industry.
Ambassador Ahmet Yazal promised to convey this initiative to the President of Turkey.
Basing on the Orkhon Valley monuments and archaeological landmarks that belong to the Turkic Empire period and the Monument to Tonyukuk in Mongolia, number of visitors from Turkey can be increased, suggested President Battulga.
Noting that he is in agreement, the Ambassador also highlighted that increasing the frequency of Turkish Airlines flights between two countries can become an impetus to activating the tourism ties. Reportedly, a consultative the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia on the latter issue is expected at the end of September.
