Fifty years ago, the Mongolian National Broadcaster broadcasted its first programme. On this occasion, an international forum named “Public Television Development Trends” is being held today at Corporate Convention Centre of Ulaanbaatar. President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga sent a Message to participants of the international forum.
Vice Chairman of the Office of the President B.Saruul presented the Message.
President Khaltmaagiin Battulga said in his Message, “Distinguished guests and delegates of the international forum,
Honorable artists of television industry,
I would like to extend my gratitude to You, all of whom convened in our country to discuss about the common challenges, achievements of public television industry and ways to further sophisticate the industry, and welcome You to have a convenient stay in the beautiful country of Mongolia.
I am delighted that MNB is celebrating its 50th anniversary in a way that this milestone is seen as a threshold of an important period rather than a festivity, and is pointing the celebration to a right direction where the public television collective can reflect on their lessons and accomplishment, learn international practices and define proper approaches to future development.
MNB collective, who had been acting as a powerful ideological weapon of totalitarianism and promoted one-party policies and ideology, however, approached the 1990’s democratic changes very sensibly and covered the democratic transition processes consistently for the public starting from its formation “in the womb” and adolescence until democracy had found its current shape in Mongolia…”
President’s Message went on to express his hope that the international forum will complete fruitfully with importance of discovering solutions for further development of public televisions, after carefully considering challenges that face the industry.
The Head of State of Mongolia wished success to organization of the international forum.
Delegations from BBC, Deutsche Welle, NHK, CCTV, Sputnik TV, TRT TV and URTV took parts in “Public Television Development Trends” forum.
