PRESIDENT OPENS EAST ASIAN JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2018 East Asian Judo Championships, which began today with the individual competition in the Central Sports Palace. Chief of Staff of the President’s Office Z.Enkhbold headed the Organizing Committee of the Championships.
After greeting the athletes, coaches and delegates, President Battulga said, “I am pleased that Mongolia, a country of long and wonderful tradition of wrestling sport, is hosting the 2018 East Asian Judo Championships in its capital city Ulaanbaatar.
I would like to wish successful competition to the judokas and the coaches who came to compete at this event, which is widely important in strengthening the friendly relations between East Asian nations and mutual support of neighboring countries.
Judo is a friendly sport promoting high moral, endurance, mutual acceptance and respect and harmonious personal development, rather than being inclined towards victory.
I am proud and exhilarated about the participation of the judokas of the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the Championships as one team, resounding a one name of Korea in the team competition. Let me congratulate the ROK-DPRK team specially on this occasion.
I wish the East Asian Judo Championships delegates a successful competition and an enjoyable stay in sunny Mongolia and invite you to get acquainted with the culture and history of Mongolia.
May the Ulaanbaatar arena be favorable
May the Eternal Sky bless your success.”
