PRESIDENT KH.BATTULGA MEETS HIS IRANIAN COUNTERPART HASSAN ROUHANI
On the sidelines of the 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met President of Iran Hassan Rouhani today in Qingdao, China.
At the beginning of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen Mongolia-Iran relations in economic and cultural spheres, and President Battulga made certain proposals.
For instance, President Battulga expressed Mongolia’s interest in consistently increasing the volume of meat exported to Iran. The sides agreed to broaden joint study of the IlKhaanate dynasty, which formed a part of the Mongol Empire and centered in the present-day Iran.
For his part, President Hassan Rouhani emphasized Iran’s interest in working with Mongolia, especially in areas of private sector cooperation, culture and history. President Hassan Rouhani also mentioned the full possibility of supplying Iranian goods to Mongolia, stressing the importance of strengthening the business-to-business and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
The sides expressed mutual interest in developing and strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations.
At the end of the meeting, the Presidents of Mongolia and Iran extended mutual invitations of visit to each other at their time of convenience.
