PRESIDENT KH.BATTULGA HOLDS OFFICIAL TALKS WITH PRESIDENT OF CHINA XI JINPING
On the sidelines of the 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, hosted by China in Qingdao, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga held his last bilateral meeting with President of the host country Xi Jinping today.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Battulga expressed his commitment to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and China and developing mutually beneficial cooperation, while touching upon the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which will fall next year. President Battulga mentioned that he observes China’s anti-corruption actions and experience in reducing poverty.
President Xi Jinping highlighted that this is a time of new opportunities for the traditional friendly relations between the two countries and expressed his firm respect for the core interests of Mongolia.
President Battulga put forward certain proposals addressing mutually beneficial economic cooperation, which were cordially accepted by President Xi Jinping. For instance, the heads of state exchanged views on cooperation opportunities, including in cashmere industry as Mongolia and China constitute 95 percent of the global raw cashmere market, exporting safe and standard meat from Mongolia to China, supplying agricultural products, especially flour, and working in infrastructure sector.
President Xi Jinping formally invited President Battulga to pay a state visit to China at a time of his convenience next year, while expressing his commitment to cooperating with the Mongolian President in a consistent manner. During their open and friendly meeting, the heads of state of Mongolia and China discussed the wide potentials for cooperation between the two neighbors.
