MEETING WITH DR. GERHARD WAHLERS, DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE KONRAD ADENAUER FOUNDATION
Today, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, Deputy Secretary-General and Head of the European and International Cooperation Department of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, who is paying a working visit to Mongolia. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation opened its office in Mongolia in 1993, and this year marks the 25th anniversary of bilateral cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Gerhard Wahlers thanked President Battulga for the audience, and expressed his satisfaction with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s successful cooperation with Mongolia for the last 25 years during which the organization co-implemented numerous projects and programs and supported Mongolia’s democratic process.
President Battulga underlined that the organization has been assisting in Mongolia’s democratic reform from the beginning, and appreciated how the organization has helped train the younger workforce in scope of its cooperation with political parties and other organizations in Mongolia. The President also expressed his satisfaction with the regularity of high-level visits paid between the two countries in recent years, while conveying his interest in broadening Mongolia-Germany relations with economic content.
Dr. Gerhard Wahlers affirmed that the Konrad Adenauer Foundation was open to cooperation with Mongolia in any sector, and noted that there was indeed much to learn from Mongolia.
The sides had an elaborate discussion on political and economic issues. At the end of the meeting, President Battulga extended his greetings on the 25th anniversary of cooperation between Mongolia and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and wished them success.
