POLAR STAR ORDER CONFERRED ON RUSSIAN CITIZEN
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga issued a decree to confer the Polar Star Order on Russian citizen Anton Vitalyevich Kovalenko in recognition of his contribution to the strengthening of Mongolia-Russia relations and cooperation.
Chief of Staff of the Office of the President Z.Enkhbold presented the award in the State Palace today.
During the ceremony, Mr. Anton Vitalyevich Kovalenko expressed his deep gratitude for the High State Prize and intention to put more efforts into further solidifying bilateral relations. In connection to Mongolia’s launch of research in Antarctica, Mr. Anton Vitalyevich Kovalenko handed over a Mongolian national flag that was raised for four months in Russia’s Vostok Station in the continent to Chief of Staff Z.Enkhbold.
Mr. Anton Vitalyevich Kovalenko has worked in Mongolia for over a decade, during which he ran a news website about Mongolia in Russian, English, and Chinese languages that reaches more than 90 countries, thus contributing to the development of the country. For instance, he directed the 2014 documentary Mongolia Was the First, which focused on Mongolia’s generous aid to the people of Russia during the Great Patriotic War.
