MEETING WITH MONGOLIANS LIVING IN SOME EUROPEAN CITIES
Following the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit held in Brussels, Belgium, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the World Investment Forum on October 21st. Upon his arrival, President Battulga held a meeting with Mongolians living in Geneva and nearby European cities.
Around 1,500 Mongolians reside in Switzerland, and Mongolians living in cities such as Zurich and Paris came to participate in the meeting with the President. While expressing their wish to return to their home country, the participants discussed a number of problems in Mongolia, including the lack of job opportunities, inadequate salary, access to social welfare services, opportunities to vote in the General Elections, food safety, and corruption. The participants voiced their concerns about the unsafe living environment and increasing injustice and corruption in Mongolia.
Present at the meeting were, B.Battsetseg, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and L.Purevsuren, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Office in Geneva and other International Organizations and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Switzerland.
