VISIT TO A MONGOLIAN TEMPLE IN INDIA
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, who is paying a state visit to the Republic of India, visited a Mongolian Temple located in Gaya District of Bihar, India, yesterday.
At present, there are a number of Buddhist temples in Bodh Gaya, including the Battsagaan Buddhist Temple, which was inaugurated in January, 2017.
Upon the arrival of President Battulga at the Mongolian Temple, Khamba Lama of the Gandantegchenling Monastery D.Choijamts briefed the former on the daily activities of the temple.
The Mongolian Temple is located at a kilometer’s distance from the Bodhi Tree and the Bodhi Stupa, revered as most sacred by around 510 Buddhists around the world, and was inaugurated by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Following his visit to the Mongolian Temple, the head of state of Mongolia also went to the Mahabodhi Temple and the Ruins of Nalanda, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
