CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF OF THE MONGOLIAN ARMED FORCES NEWLY APPOINTED
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga forwarded a proposal on the appointment of Dovchinsurengyn Ganzorig to the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces to the State Great Khural. The proposal was discussed at a plenary session of the Parliament and backed by a vote of 76.9 percent.
President Battulga thus issued a decree on releasing A.Ganbat from the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces and appointing D.Ganzorig today.
Furthermore, Chief of Staff to the President of Mongolia Z.Enkhbold delivered the presidential decree to the personnel of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces and was present at the transfer of seal of office.
The newly-appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces undertook studies at and graduated from the School No. 8 between 1980-1990; the Tambov Higher Military Command Academy in the Russian Federation between 1990-1995; the Special Operations School in the People’s Republic of China between 1999-2000; an Infantry Officer Basic Course and Ranger Course in the United States between 2001-2002; the Marine Command and Staff College in the United States between 2007-2008; and the Army War College in the United States between 2011-2012. He lives with his wife and two children.
D.Ganzorig has worked as Platoon Commander at the Military Unit No. 119 of the Mongolian Armed Forces between 1995-1997, Section Head and Trainer at the Military Unit No. 150 between 1997-2002, Deputy Chief and Planning Officer at the Peace Support Operations Training Center at the Military Unit No. 311 between 2002-2003, Staff Officer at the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces between 2003-2007, Chief of the Peace Support Operations Training Center at the Military Unit No. 311 between 2008-2010, Referent at the Executive Office of the National Security Council between 2010-2011, Deputy Department Chief at the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces between 2012-2014, and Department Chief at the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces since 2014.
