TAVANTOLGOI-ZUUNBAYAN RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION WORKS CONTINUE

On October 8-9, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga worked along the trails of and checked the progress in the construction works of 414.6 km railway connecting Tavantolgoi mine in Tsogttsetsii Soum of Umnugobi Aimag with the Zuunbayan Station in Dornogobi Aimag.

The President was accompanied by Minister of Defense N.Enkhbold, Minister of Road and Transport Development B.Enkh-Amgalan, Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces D.Ganzorig, and executives of the Mongolian Railway state-owned shareholding company and the Ulaanbaatar Railway Joint Venture.

The construction works are engaging 11 entities from Tsogttsetsii Soum of Umnugobi Aimag, 8 entities in the territory of Mandakh Soum of Dornogobi Aimag, 9 entities from Zuunbayan Station of Dornogobi Aimag, and personnel of the Military Units No. 7781, No. 7782, No. 110, and No. 339 of the Mongolian Armed Forces divided in these and other sections.

As no major difficulties are arising during the construction of railway dams, and considering the weather forecasts indicating a warm winter, the private entities have decided to continue the construction works until early January and in the case of some entities, throughout the winter. The companies conveyed their proposals on settling the necessary funds matching their performance and receiving guarantees for the next jobs based on the quality of their performance. Therefore, President Battulga instructed the corresponding officials to increase the workforce and make guarantees on the next jobs of companies that are demonstrating high performance and completing their jobs earlier than it was planned.

The personnel of the Mongolian Armed Forces are also on schedule with the construction works of the basic track structure and are engaged in construction works of apartment buildings and administration posts at some railroad junctions.

Within the frames of works to increase the capacity of the Zuunbayan Station, which will be connected to Tavantolgoi, the construction of the track foundation was completed while dam construction works continue. Thus, the rails of the track are being laid along the route starting from Zuunbayan Station.

President Battulga instructed the corresponding ministers and officials to improve the living conditions of the workers, increase their wage, and engage the personnel of military units in the railway infrastructure development works after giving them proper training at the Vocational School in Sainshand, Dornogobi Aimag.
