MEETING WITH DELEGATION OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received U.S. delegates led by Alan Turley, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for China and Mongolia in the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, today.
Mr. Turley, who is accompanied by representatives of multinational companies operating in the areas of agriculture, information technology, mining equipment, chemicals, and railway infrastructure, noted that his visit was aimed at building on the commitment to strengthening bilateral economic and trade ties and putting works into action.
The U.S. Department of Commerce expressed interest in cooperation in agriculture and animal husbandry within Mongolia, while seeking new opportunities for business partnership and cooperation based on the ongoing railway and aviation infrastructure development works and the thriving number of internet users in Mongolia.
President Battulga spoke about some projects and programs that are being currently implemented and emphasized that despite of which sector it is, good technological and financial conditions were the foundation of a mutually beneficial business partnership. The delegation of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the private sectors expressed their interest in building long-term partnerships in Mongolia, rather than engaging in a business model for short-term profit, and gratitude for the substantial information given on the existing business opportunities.
