PRESIDENT KHALTMAAGIIN BATTULGA ATTENDING THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM
The World Economic Forum commenced today (2020.01.21) in Davos, Switzerland. Some 3,000 delegates from 117 countries, including heads of state and government, arrived at the forum to discuss a wide range of issues within six main areas—ecology, economy, technology, society, geopolitics, and industry.
Mongolia has always attached great significance to the World Economic Forum and participated in the forum at the level of a head of state between 2009-2011 and 2013-2017, at the level of a head of government in 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2012, and at the level of a member of the cabinet in 1991, 2018, and 2019. This year, a presidential delegation has arrived at the forum.
On the first day of the forum that is being held under the theme Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga attended panel sessions addressing air pollution reduction and New Vision for Eurasia – Partnerships for Sustainable Growth and exchanged views with leaders of some countries on the ways to boost regional connectivity.
President Battulga plans to hold bilateral meetings with heads of state and government of some countries and attend panel sessions on the second day of the forum.
