PRESIDENT DONATES 5,000 PROTECTIVE CLOTHES TO STATE EMERGENCY COMMISSION
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga donated 5,000 pieces of protective clothes as a personal contribution to coronavirus (COVID-19) precaution efforts. The donation was presented today by Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Mongolia U.Shijir to Chairman of the State Emergency Commission U.Enkhtuvshin.
The Chief of Staff said “I am delighted to present the President’s personal donation of 5,000 protective clothes, which are the essential gears for medical and emergency personnel working to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19. I trust that this donation can be a contribution to the Emergency Commission and the Health Ministry’s efforts.
“These protective clothes are made by Exclusive, a Mongolian national clothing brand, especially for COVID-19 prevention in line with international standards. The factory is capable of making 1,200 protective clothes in a day. The national brand aims to introduce its product to the global market. I was informed the brand already received an offer from Poland.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to the company for its commitment to demonstrate domestic company’s capacity to produce protective gears.
“I am honored to convey the President’s confidence in medical workers and the emergency staff’s ability to overcome the difficulties.”
The head of state has bought the “exMed” protective clothes from his personal funds.
Mongolia has a total of 35 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of April 22. The contracted patients have been receiving treatments at the National Center for Communicable Diseases. Eight patients had been cured and released to remain in self-isolation in their homes.
As of April 22, 2020, a total of 1,222 people are being isolated under observation.
